Ok...so I'm a die hard QAF fan. Loved that show and it still lives
on in my heart and dvd player. So imagine my surprise when I go to
a very average bar near Atlanta last night and my friends and I are
seated at a table and I look around and who is sitting at the table
right next to us???? Randy Harrison! It took me about 20 minutes
to convince myself I wasn't hallucinating and that it was really
him. He was sitting with a girl with red hair@# and glasses and I was
VERY proud of myself for playing cool on the outside while freaking
out on the inside..lol. I didn't want to pester him at all and from
what I've read he is a very private person but I had to say
SOMETHING...ANYTHING to let him know how much I loved his work. So,
on the way back from the restroom I tapped his arm and he looked at
me and I said, "I just had to let you know that I love your work and
think you are so great." He smiled, that beautiful Sunshine
smile...lol...and said, "Aww...thank you so much. I appreciate
that."
Oh and about an hour later 3 guys arrived and sat at the table. One
was kind of rowdy and was hitting on me and my friend which I didn't
mind because I got to share a couple of eye rolls with Randy...lol.
Then Randy left and his friends stayed. The rowdy guy leans over to
our table and says "Hey...that was the guy from Queer as Folk." and
the girl who was at the table said, "She totally knew who he was and
said hello." and then they all talked about how they went to high
school with him and stuff and how great he is.
So there it is...Very brief but it made my night and I wanted to
share it with other QAF fans who would know how totally cool that
was :).
Thanks for sharing my enthusiasm! :) Ok. His hair looked very
good. Blonde...Not too long...not too short. Think Episode 301.
He was wearing army green pants (kinda like cargo pants but without
alot of pockets) He was wearing a navy blue, casual, long sleeved
shirt with the sleeves pushed up. He was smoking quite a bit. I
noticed a bottle of beer on the table but wasn't sure if it was his
or the girl he was with. His eyes were very blue and his laugh was
undeniable. :)
@#Since he was in town to perform with other alumni at the benefit at his
alma mater, Pace Academy, I would not be surprised if the girl with red
hair was not New York stage actress Marci Adilman, his best friend from
high school with whom he co-starred in the New York Fringe Festival
production of "Deviant" and who went with him to the S5 QAF premier
party in LA

The “Encore!” presentation features Pace students and alumni from15 years of Pace Academy musicals. Performing popular songs from their Pace past, the cast of more than 30 includes star of television and Broadway stage Randy Harrison ‘96, writer and director Hunter Roberts ‘95 and Ethan Smith ‘96 from movies such as “Big Trouble” and a guest starring role in television’s “CSI Miami.”

One of the roles Randy appeared in at Pace was as Peter Pan in the
musical of the same name . Wonder if he reprised one of his solos for
tonight's show:
I have a place where dreams are born,
And time is never planned.
It's not on any chart,
You must find it with your heart.
Never Never Land.
It might be miles beyond the moon,
Or right there where you stand.
Just keep an open mind,
And then suddenly you'll find
Never Never Land.
You'll have a treasure if you stay there,
More precious far than gold.
For once you have found your way there,
You can never, never grow old.
And that's my home where dreams are born,
And time is never planned.
Just think of lovely things.
And your heart will fly on wings,
Forever in Never Never Land.
You'll have a treasure if you stay there,
More precious far than gold.
For once you have found your way there,
You can never, never grow old.
And that's my home where dreams are born,
And time is never planned.
Just think of lovely things.
And your heart will fly on wings,
Forever in Never Never Land

Randy Harrison, Ricky Martin... and Dolly Parton's Sister?
If you're looking for something different to do this weekend, check out the bevy of gay-friendly celebs hitting Atlanta Saturday and Sunday:
Randy Harrison (Justin on "Queer As Folk") returns to his Buckhead alma-mater Pace Academy on Saturday to perform musical favorites with other Pace alumni.
We're not sure whether to give kudos to Pace for welcoming him back...or if they're doing it just because he's famous.
All we know is other private schools (who shall remain...ahem...nameless) would probably not welcome back an openly-gay performer with open arms. We'd love to hear comments from those of you who went to an Atlanta Christian private school.
Tickets are $100, but you can write off $85 of it since it goes to benefit the Fine Arts Endowment. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
After run over to hear WETbar for DJ Joe Gauthreaux before he heads down to New Orleans for Mardi Gras.
