as far as i know, g/r are definitely comfortable with each other, both on scene or in private. they are good friends, if not to the extent of being intimate. in one of gale's interview, he said that, of all the cast and crew, he'd learnt most from randy, who had very interesting characters in his mind. randy is a well-known bookworm. gale majored in literature in university. i do think they have much in common in terms of intellectual tastes and interests.
